Difference — PR, Marketing, Advertising
Advertising is creating targeted, persuasive messages and paying to place them somewhere – such as on TV or the radio, in a magazine or newspaper, or on a billboard or bus bench.
Marketing is the “Four Ps” – product, price, placement, promotion. Basically, marketing is about strategically meeting a consumer need or want by developing and selling something.
Public relations is about strategically identifying, maintaining and strengthening relationships with publics through research, strategies and tactics. Additionally, the information gained from these relationships can be used in marketing and advertising efforts.
